Hello to all, friends, family, and the unaquainted. Thank you for taking the time to read this page. My brother, 20 and I (22) have created this page in hopes of raising Johnathan Hughes, know as Trip and Helpful, is an amazing person, who touched many.
Days after losing our grandfather and just 4 months after losing our grandmother, our father was diagnosed with a stage IV gleoblastoma tumor and had immediate surgery to remove the tumor. Given 3-6 months to live, our dad had almost 2 full years since a slow but steady deterioration of his overall state of healt, started last summer. In the past couple of month,s things have taken a rapid turn for the worse, and he has become permanantly bed ridden.
As you can imagine, all of this is taking a pretty hefty toll on two people our age. That largest impact being how much the two of us have to miss work to be there for him. This has only recently become more of an issue considering our lease runs up in June. Our high rent and poorly maintained property have made it necessary to re-house our dad.
This Go Fund Me has been started in the hopes of raising the initial cost of a new home for him, and for sustaining him to be as comfortable as possible in the time he has left. He always giving what he could to someone in need or lending a hand where it was needed. I have literally witnessed him give the shirt off his back. Helpful truly is one the most generous, selfless, compasionate people most have ever met.
Words can not explain our gratitude for all of you taking the time to read and to support this man. Even if all you can do is share this and pass it along you are doing us a profound favor.
