Bens Dental Mission Trip to Jamaica
Donation protected
First off, I wanted to say thanks for even taking a look at this; I really appreciate it! It all started back in high school when I was sitting at a prayer service as a senior at Jesuit. It was the distinguished alumni prayer service, a prayer service held once a year to honor a Jesuit alum for his service to the community. The distinguished alumnus was a dentist whom traveled the world and provided free dental care to those in need. Since that moment, I not only decided that I wanted to become a dentist (yeah I knew since high school and it still took me three times to get in... but hey, we still comin'), but I also decided that I wanted to serve others through the profession.
In my mind, the coolest part of dentistry is you have a skill set you can take anywhere in the world and help people, instantly relieving them of pain, giving them a fresh new smile, whatever it is.
It has been a long time coming, since 2009 to be exact. I finally have the opportunity to go abroad and now have the skill set to do the work. So that is exactly what I am planning to do.
I have the opportunity to go on a mission trip with the Christian Dental Society to the Helping Hands Clinic on the southern side of Jamaica. Not only will we be able to improve their oral health, but we will also be able to share the love of Christ with the people of Jamaica. Last year, the group that went to Jamaica saw 800 patients! Attached are some pictures from last year's trip so you all can see where we will be working and the people we will be helping. I could not make this happen without you all. Thanks for reading! I promise you I will make the most of the opportunity that you all are supporting.
With Gratitude,
Ben
