Dave Patrick is a well known storm chaser and photographer from Fergus, Ontario who just underwent neurosurgery after suffering a serious brain injury from a traumatic fall at home. He has now been in the hospital since Monday and the recovery process looks like it's going to be a slow one.
Dave and his wife Kristy are both self-employed with three young children to care for and both will be off work for an extended length of time. I really feel Kristy needs to be there for her husband and children and I know there are a lot of us who either know or who have followed Dave and his chasing and beautiful pictures, wondering how we can help.

This is what they need. They are a loving family in it for the long haul, but they know it is a tough road ahead for them! There are costs to being in the hospital long term, out of pocket therapy costs and just the costs of living when Dad is in the hospital and Mom's taking care of him and the kids.
Let's help them out so Dave can chase again!

Here are the two messages Kristy posted to Facebook:
For those that do not know. Early Monday morning Dave was brought by ambulance to Groves hospital after hearing some loud noise and finding him on the floor. We don't know exactly why he fell or of there's even a reason but he suffered some serious head injuries in the process. Dave has been in stable condition since being taken care of by emergency personnel and in Fergus hospital and is now under constant watch in Guelph ICU as we wait and watch how he responds. If there are major updates in progress I will post them on here but I am told it is a slow process so be patient. Thank you for all the support <3
And this morning:
Last night after some signs of regression throughout the day, Dave Patrick underwent neurosurgery to relieve the pressure on his brain before any more severe deterioration could occur. He seems to be recovering well from the operation. We are hopeful that this will be the changing step towards a steady recovery. (There was even a thunderstorm that rolled through once they brought him back up stairs. Has to be a good sign, right?) Thank you all for the support. I will be sure to pass it along as he becomes more alert. ❤️

Our thoughts and prayers are with you for a full and speedy recovery!
And thank you everyone for your consideration.
<3
