Help my 21 year old son!!!
Donation protected
On Sept 5th, 2023 my son Alex sustained life-threatening injuries from a supposed self-inflicted gun shot. The Harris County Sheriff's department has an open investigation into the incident. We are hopeful that their investigation will show the truth about this horrific incident.
The bullet travelled upwards from his mouth and exited the top of his skull causing severe traumatic injuries to his mouth, teeth, nose, eye, and brain. He has had one surgery to address the injuries to his left eye and to close the back side of his skull, and the prognosis is that he will be permanently blind. The second of what may be several surgeries is scheduled for September 15th, 2023 to reconstruct his cranium to hold his brain in place. I am a single father and have been for the last 13 years. I am disabled and haven't been able to work for the last 6 months, and my son has been critical in supporting our household. I will have to be his full time caregiver once he is released from the hospital.
Funds raised from this GoFundMe will go towards our living expenses and more importantly towards his medical expenses. We will have to purchase an electric wheelchair for him, relocate to a lower-level apartment that is accessible, and procure whatever other items are needed for his care.
I've always been self-sufficient, so asking for help is a difficult thing to do, but as a father with a son fighting for his life, I am willing to do whatever it takes for me to take care of him and provide him with the best quality of life that I can.
My biggest prayer is that the doctors are blessed with the knowledge they need for his upcoming surgery to be a success, that my son has the strength and will to continue fighting for his life and that our community can lift them up in prayer as they take his life in their hands on the 15th, one day before his 21st birthday.
Thank you in advance for your generosity to help me help my son and all the prayers that are being raised up in his name.
