My brother Alexis Eduardo is one of the kindest people I know. To the stranger's eyes he may seem serious and reserved, but he is the most loyal and supportive person; as a big brother he looked after me through our childhood, later on both he and his wife have been a key support while I was raising my girls on my own. He is a kind, loving father of two beautiful smart girls, a considerate husband and a loyal reliable friend.
He is also diabetic, and over the last few years he has faced the challenge of supporting his family while fighting the very painful symptoms of neuropathy, he has been strong and hardworking, and has faced all his challenges with the best positive attitude.
A couple of weeks ago he caught a very aggressive bacteria in his left foot which his body was unable to fight properly due to his condition, he had to undergo two surgeries to remove the affected tissue and bone, and now requires more than 6 weeks of treatment and absolute rest to successfully recover.
All along, he is only grateful for the attention he received in the Saint Joseph Hospital where everyone took the best care of him and where he was shown love and kindness, and for that I am also grateful.
Throughout this process, my brother lost his job and he won’t be able to generate any income while he is recovering, our family and closest friend are doing what we can to help but they still need certain amount of money to help cover the expenses that come with supporting a family and his treatment.
I created this campaign to raise the funds they need to be able to relieve some of the financial stress they are in, and to help cover the remaining expenses of his treatment to guarantee that my brother can fully recover and continue to provide for his family and be the supportive helpful person he is for his family, friends and the community.
