Helping Trae Jennings

**UPDATE**
Since I initially set up this FundMe page for  my brother Trae, things have progressively gotten a little worse. At times he was given just weeks to live.  After spending extensive time in the hospital with doctor's trying to determine the best course of action, he was transitioned to a nursing/ short term care facility in May. The ups and downs continued with his liver and kidneys, keeping him in excruciating pain and immobile. As his condition began to improve and his mobility and dexterity increased, he contracted Covid and was then hospitalized as his liver and kidneys were improving. This was a major set back leading to major complications and a new set of ailments.  After recovering from Covid and his kidney's improving, his liver was in very bad shape. The doctors reached out to John Hopkins and VCU for potential liver transplant consideration and VCU had a spot for evaluation. He was rushed to Richmond in the early hours of Sunday morning  Sept 19th. He's remained there since.

In order to be considered a transplant recipient, he'd need to successfully pass multiple test and procedures over these past couple of weeks. Should he receive a donor liver, the doctors need to be sure there aren't any other underlying issues that may come to surface and render the transplant a failure. In addition, Danielle and I had to interview with the transplant team to prove we can provide the aftercare support months following. Finally, they present all findings to Medicaid for any financial assistance.

GOD IS GREAT! Yesterday morning (10/6) I received a call from the transplant team and Trae has been listed as a top priority on the national transplant list. He'll remain at VCU until a donor becomes available, keeping him stable with 24hr care.  I speak with him multiple times a day. He's in good spirits but obviously scared. What keeps him going is knowing he's close to having a second chance of life and reuniting with family and friends he so dearly misses.

Leading up to his diagnosis in April, Trae found himself in very hard times and the onset of the pandemic hindered him from keeping above water. With help from family, and early donations, he has little to no debt. However, I had to move all his possessions into storage from the place he was renting and has no permanent home and little money to his name.  During his recovery, he'll be staying with Danielle and I but will transition to his own place. These donations will help his medical expenses not covered and help cushion him to become independent again.  Your donation would be greatly appreciated during this tough time and will go a long way. Every penny will count. If nothing else please pray for my big brother. God Bless!

Thank you all-
