Terri Aragon, friend and hair stylist to so many, will be having major heart surgery in August. Our goal is to raise funds to help her have some peace of mind while she is recovering and not able to work.
Terri was born with a congenital fused bicuspid valve and over her lifetime it has created a Thoracic Ascending Aorta Aneurysm. If the aneurysm dissects or bursts, there is only a 20% chance of survival.
Terri and her family were unaware of her heart condition for all these years so it truly was a blessing in disguise for her to have had an episodical blindness T.I.A. This episode led to the tests that revealed her extremely delicate current condition. Her cardiologist says she is an anomaly.
On August 24, 2015, she will be having open-heart surgery. She will receive a mechanical valve replacement and her cardiac surgeon will also remove and wrap her Ascending Aortic Aneurysm.
She will spend at least 5 days in the hospital with 2 days in the ICU. Then she will have AT LEAST a 9-week recovery time.
We all know how hard Terri works and how difficult it will be for her to have to take so much time off of work; being self employed can be both a blessing and a curse!
Terri has touched a tremendous amount of people as a family member, a friend, and hair stylist/colourist extraordinaire! If even a quarter of us donated something, we would be able to provide her with some peace of mind and ensure that she doesn't feel the need to attempt to return to work before she is fully recovered. Some of us have pledged to donate the cost of a haircut and color. :) No amount is too small!
Terri will receive all funds generated. After convincing her to allow us to put together this page, she received an invitation from GoFundMe and will have complete control over the funds collected.
Thank you all so much,
Trisha Sonyi & Tami Novak
