Helping Yael and Scott

Dear friends and family, our dear friends Scott & Yael Ross are among the hundreds of thousands of victims of hurricane Harvey. Yael is pregnant, expecting their first child in 2 months. Their house and car were completely flooded and destroyed. I want to emphasize that they didn't just lose their home; they also lost their place of work and part of their livelihood. In addition, Yael recently set up her nursery and had a baby shower and lost all the items needed for the arrival of their future baby boy.

I know there's a lot of people out there wanting to help them. I thought opening this page and raising funds to secure a year of an apartment rental for them to be at a safe & clean place for the baby was a good idea.

I have spoken with them. They have flood insurance and are hoping to get financial support. With the amount of damage in the city I don't know how long that will take and want to make sure that is not a burden for them right now - they need to be at a clean and safe place for that baby's arrival. This fundraiser is not meant to raise money to fix their home but perhaps it can help them make the recovery process a little easier.
