This fundraiser is for my co-worker, Yadira Gonzalez, who works as a breastfeeding peer counselor in the WIC clinic. She was unexpectedly diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in October 2021. She is a single mom to her 13-year-old daughter, Cynthia. 

 

Due to her illness, Yadira has run out of vacation days, therefore she is not getting paid for any time off for appointments or treatment. Her medical bills are piling up and the chances of any Christmas is growing slimmer by the day. Often on days she comes to work, she is very nauseous and weak but continues trying her best to keep going.

 

And, although our wish would be for all her time to be granted back, it’s something we know isn’t reachable. So, our wish is simply this: help her make this Christmas memorable for both her and her daughter by helping her pay off bills so she can have money to buy Christmas for her daughter.
