Hi everyone, I am Sandra Duvall and I want to tell you about my niece Amy Kennedy's husband Joel and of the difficult fight he is facing. I am starting this GoFundMe campaign to help him out, to tell you about him, and to keep you updated.
I have been told that Joel has been an avid sports fan all of his life. He made a career of doing what he loves - sports. He graduated with a degree in Athletic Training from Mississippi State University. He has worked at many schools as an athletic trainer in Mississippi, Florida and Texas and even worked for the Philadelphia Phillies Baseball team for 8 years. He is currently the athletic trainer at Tupelo High School. Joel loves working with and caring for his athletes and they love him.
In June, 2018 Joel married the love of his life, Amy. They bought a home and began their life together. In May, 2019, after not feeling well for some time, Joel went to the doctor and was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer which had metastasized to the liver. To everyone's shock, he had to have surgery right away so that he could begin cancer treatment immediately. He is continuing his treatment and is facing an overwhelming and debilitating fight. In the meantime, the bills are mounding from surgery and chemotherapy. Amy is spending much of her free time to help to meet their expenses. She is also making crafts to sell to make some extra money.
I go and stay with Joel every other week so that Amy can work. Joel's parents travel from Louisiana to stay the other week. We are reaching out to those who know Joel for your help. This is a huge trial, but because of this trial, Joel has come to see himself as a sinner, repented of his sins, and come to Jesus Christ as his Savior. Joel knows that God is working all this trial for his good and God's glory. We pray that Joel will have complete healing and that God will use his testimony to bring others to Christ. Please pray for physical and spiritual strength for Joel and Amy as they go through this trial. What they need right now is help to pay for the enormous bills they are incurring.
