It is with a heavy heart that we are making this GoFundMe page for Eddie White. In October 2018, Eddie was diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic colon cancer. To say it was devastating would be an understatement. However, he took it all in stride and was determined to fight the cancer. He was true to his word and has fought a long, hard battle. Even while fighting cancer, he still managed to make it to church almost every Sunday and cheer on his favorite football team, the Clemson Tigers. He showed all the doctors how strong his fighting spirit was by living longer and stronger than they expected.
While he faced the battle with dignity, faith and strength, in December 2019 with the advice of his doctors, Eddie agreed it was time for hospice care. As his caregivers (his son, Cameron and wife, Ashley) we have walked every step of the way with him. Cameron had to leave his job to be Eddie’s full-time caregiver and Ashley is currently in the Nursing Program at Horry-Georgetown Technical College. We knew this last step to hospice care would be the most difficult for him and us. The last two months have been some of the hardest on our family and his health has gradually declined each day. As of Wednesday, 1/29/20, the hospice nurse informed us that Eddie has entered his final days and it is time to start planning for his passing.
We are reaching out with this GoFundMe page to help our family at this difficult time. Since Cameron is Eddie’s full-time caregiver and Ashley is full-time in the Nursing program, we need all the help we can get. We have arranged for most of the funeral services, but we still need help paying for the funeral costs, medical bills, and his other final expenses. We would like to honor Eddie with a celebration of life that he so deserves.
As you can imagine this is a heartbreaking time right now for our family. We would be so grateful for your help in alleviating some of the financial burden as we grieve and make plans to say goodbye to Eddie. Please find it in your heart to send any assistance you can, every little bit helps and is much appreciated.
Thank you so much,
Cameron and Ashley White
