Our family’s life changed very suddenly this week.
My husband experienced a seizure and was diagnosed with tuberous sclerosis, a genetic neurological condition that can cause seizures. While we are grateful he is home and beginning treatment, this diagnosis has come with immediate and unexpected challenges.
Under Florida law, he is unable to drive for the next six months. This has created a significant transportation burden for our family. He needs to commute to work five days a week. I am able to drive him for one leg of the trip each day, but the return trip (or the trip there) requires an Uber. Because of our three children, I am not always able to make both trips myself.
The cost of daily rides adds up quickly and was not something we were financially prepared for, especially on top of new medical expenses, follow-up appointments, and the emotional weight of adjusting to a life-changing diagnosis.
We are raising funds to help cover essential transportation costs while he is unable to drive, daily Uber rides needed to keep him working, and the sudden financial strain caused by this medical event.
Any support, whether through donating or sharing, helps relieve some of the pressure as we focus on his health, our children, and maintaining stability for our family during this transition.
Thank you for reading, caring, and supporting our family in any way you can.
