Hi my name's Terry and I'm fundraising for a lovely lady called Stephanie who helps Owls birds of prey and other wildlife recover from injuries and trauma and then to be released back into the wild once recovered.
My story starts with a gorgeous tawny owl which was stuck in a railway wagon trapped in the stone.
I unload these wagons with a clamshell grab and I was unloading the last wagon when I noticed these eyes in corner of wagon looking at me.
I realised it was alive so I rescued it and took it home.
I tried to find someone to take it I rung a couple of vets one wouldn't take it because of bird flu and the other told me to ring RSPCA.
I ended up coming across a rescue place for owls and birds of prey near Sudbury in Suffolk.
A lovely lady called Stephanie answered the phone she asked if I could bring it to her so I travelled an hour to get house .
She took the bird in and has been caring for it .
She took it to vets for a check up as wasn't sure if wings were damaged.
Luckily the vet gave the all clear on that after checking and doing some x-rays.
I have asked Stephanie to keep me posted on recovery of the owl and I asked if I could be there if and when he can be released back into the wild providing he makes full recovery as it's early days.
I feel that I owe it to the charity to try raise some money to help
