Can we talk about the most amazing special girl in the world for a minute?

Anyone who was lucky enough to know my cousin Shelby already knows what a one of a kind beautiful spirit she had. In spite of her own health struggles with Melas Syndrome, Shelby was one of the most positive, caring, kind and generous people I’ve ever known. She never let her circumstances define her character, and remained true to her loving heart, always. It shone through it everything she did: her thoughtful gifts, her kind gestures and her loving actions. Shelby remembered everyone, and went out of her way to make sure her people knew how much she loved them.

Losing her at 24 years old has been a devastating blow to our family. She leaves behind a void that can never be filled.

It’s hard to talk about Shelbs without talking about my aunt Vicky… because she was and IS Shelby’s biggest supporter. Her caretaker. Her best friend. Her side kick and partner in crime! Her everything, just as Shelby was to her.

Shelbs circumstances were atypical, so typical momming, which is already really hard, isn’t what I’m talking about here. This is super mom stuff. Stuff most of us can’t even imagine.

Vicky put her own career on hold to provide IHSS care for Shelby during the time when it mattered most. Now she is left with no income to pick up the pieces and provide a proper send off for our sweet girl. Let’s help give my auntie the time she needs to grieve, heal and not have to worry about how to do those things.

Anything donated to this fundraiser will go directly to Vicky’s account and will be used for living expenses until she can get back on her feet.
