Year 2020 has been a devastating year for so many people. This terrible virus, the storms, fires, etc. This week has also brought my family to our knees finding out that my daughter, Valerie, has cancer. We met w/ her surgeon today to get the ugly details and information of the formidable task ahead of us. Next week we will meet w/ the radiologist and oncologist to set up the treatments and decide where to receive said treatments. We’re hoping for Sugarland, instead of League City, because it is closer and easier to get to. Valerie can’t work, but life will continue and the bills must be paid. She has applied for disability and was told it could be 3 – 4 months before she even hears from them. We hoping that will not be the case. Our family will, as we have done in the past, get through this, another hurdle, and be stronger because of it. Valerie knows that there is no plan B. She has to fight harder than ever, and she will have the people who love her making sure she doesn’t fail.
Most of these medical expenses are not going to be covered by insurance along with other bills like gas, lodging, travel obligations, her rent and utilities, and food.
With medical bills going to be piling up, we thought we’d set up a fund so that all of us can help Valerie continue to get the treatments necessary to hopefully save her life.
It's always hard asking for help, but it's going to be a hard journey for Valerie and us. We are looking into programs that assist people facing these dark times, and in prayer we hope they will.
