Hi everyone, This is Kayden!
Kayden is a 3 year old little boy who was diagnosed with Opitz G/BBB syndrome amongst other things. He's a spunky, goofy and loving boy.
Kayden has had on going medical needs since he was a day old. From surgery, to confirmation of the syndrome to more surgeries and scopes. Opitz G/BBB is a genetic syndrome that affects the midline. (Esophagus, GI (stomach), Pulmonary (lungs), and so much more. It’s not well known, and is hard to get care for those who have it without the right resources.
Kayden’s diagnosis to date is:
-Dysphasia (Thickened fluids)
-Silently aspirates on fluids
-Stage 2 Laryngeal Cleft
-Subglottic Stenosis (scarring of tissue)
-Laryngomalacia (Chronic Stridor)
—Small/narrow airway obstruction, small openings to the lungs
August 26th/27th we were recently seen in Seattle and had 3 scopes done. Upon review of the scopes Kayden got diagnosed with a nasty stomach infection. We also had a new scope done of his airway, lungs, and vocal cords.
Due to the urgency to get the Cleft at the vocal cords repaired and to help improve the aspiration problem we need to be seen 2-3 more times in Seattle. Financially we can’t afford to turn around and plan another trip within 2-3 months. That time frame is to get him into the repair surgery!
All the funds raised will be going towards:
-Hotel stays for the trips
-Fuel costs for our trips
-Kayden’s thickner for his fluids due to them not being covered by insurance
-Any prescription costs in the event that our insurance won’t cover them
-Any special supplies that may be needed due to the surgery(s)
Thank you for taking the time to read about my sweet boy. Updates will be posted throughout this adventure.
