Hi my name is Melodie and I am fundraising for a beautiful, kind, loving couple. This fundraiser is for my oldest and dearest friend and her husband. I’ve known Beccy for 47 years and her husband Andrew for the 25 years they have been married. They are good people who have hearts of gold and have always helped those in need. This time though it is them that have fallen on tough times.

In July of 2024 Beccy was rushed into hospital unresponsive. She was diagnosed with sepsis and put on life support. Beccy was in hospital for 8 months, but with a lot of heavenly intervention she recovered. While in a coma in ICU, she developed nerve damage making her wheelchair bound unable to walk or stand and unable to use her dominant left arm.

Her husband was employed full time and was just making ends meet until he was injured at work in May 2025 and his company put him on unpaid medical leave. Unfortunately, Andrew is unable to receive any benefits so has no income while he is awaiting testing and treatment. Andrew is now in constant pain and the injury has caused permanent damage.

They have no savings or assets or family to help them out and have fallen drastically behind on their basic needs and necessities. They need a minimum of $4000 to help clear their arrears for rent, hydro, car repair, phone; as well as to get their important medications, food and personal care items.

They are very proud people and I would love to be able to turn their sadness and fear into relief and peace. Please donate to this couple if you are able. I wouldn’t be doing this if they didn’t deserve the helping hand.

UPDATE

There have been no donations so far and I want to stress how urgent this is. They’ve tried everything and it’s why I’ve stepped up to help.

If Beccy and Andrew don’t receive our help NOW they will have no way to get back on their feet, nowhere to go having no family (all have passed) to turn to and with all Beccy’s required medical equipment there will be no way for her to live her life with Andrew. Every dollar you donate (minus gofundme fee) gets them closer to keeping a roof over their heads and safety while they physically heal. NOTE: Beccy being on ODSP medical benefits makes both her and Andrew ineligible for any other government benefit or welfare as it’s classified as double dipping.
