We are heading to Krakow in Poland on 9th-13 May to volunteer at centres helping Ukrainian refugees. Friends have asked how they can help support the trip, but there is only so much that we can pack to fly there. However, all the essentials required can be bought whilst in Krakow, so an effective way of helping is for us to purchase items with donations whilst there.
Therefore, if you wish to donate, we will use the money in the following ways;
- The 3-4 centres we know of have daily requirements - we will find out what those are, and supermarket shop accordingly.
- The clothes warehouse that we will be spending our time at has specific needs (currently underwear and T-Shirts), we can take some with us or buy them once in Krakow.
- Any excess will be donated to either local, on the ground support charities or the Disasters Emergency Committee
We will keep all receipts and publish details at the end of the trip to show how the monies have been used. Nothing from any funds raised will be used to benefit the trip itself or our stay, which is self-funded.
