Helping Ukrainian families restart their lives
Beschermde donatie
Hello and welcome on our GoFundMe-Page!
We are a group of colleagues from both Poland and Germany, all working in the HR IT department of a big German Airline.
We are joining forces to support our Ukrainian guests.
We are joining forces to support our Ukrainian guests.
While we are all speechlessly watching the news every day, the Polish colleagues - mainly located in Krakow - are seeing tens of thousands of refugees arrive every day. They are personally facing the heartbreaking stories of those they meet. Some of our colleagues have already started hosting refugees - mainly mothers and their kids - in their homes. They arrive with close to nothing, cradling their traumatized kids, thankful for a safe and warm place to stay, while hoping to ever see their fathers, husbands and sons again.
Please meet 2 of our families:
- Irina (31) and her son Timur (4) from Kyiv with their host Marta. Irina worked as a 3D cartoon/ game avatar designer prior to the war. Timur went to kindergarten, loves soccer and adores angry birds which is his favorite video game. They are dreaming of going back to their hometown soon and to be reunited with her husband and father of Timur, as well as with her brother as she lost her parents some time ago.
Here, you see our gentlemen Maciej Mazur and Hubert Zych helping with delivering some welcome shopping and equipment like a refrigerator.
- Katia and Misha (6) from Kyiv with their host Maciej: Katia worked as an engineer at a pharmaceutical company that was bombed. Misha went to kindergarten.
Katia wants to get back to normal life as soon as possible. Although it's hard to forget about hiding in the subway and a traumatic escape from the city. Maciej and his family are helping them to find a flat and a school. When they met their hosts at the railway station, all their belongings were in one handy suitcase.
While we are all hoping for the war to end as soon as possible, the refugees are trying to find a way to restart their lives. They do not want to be a burden, they want to work as soon as possible, their kids want to go to school and they need their own places to stay.
We as the HR IT Community would like to stand together and jointly help "our" families to find their way.
One family already got their own apartment, wohooooo!!
As nothing is certain today, we will adjust our offers to help according to the needs of our families, as they occur. If possible, we would like to find small apartments for all "our" families and to help fund them for at least a few months.
If you would like to be part of our community, we would be more than grateful for your contribution!
Please be assured that your money will be used wisely. We will keep you updated on the progress of our campaign.
Thank you very much!
Kindest regards
