Hello, this is Nathan Hickman, and I’m not one to ask for help, but the Ukraine crisis has hit home with me. I think of the Fathers who send their children to safety as they go back and fight the war. It breaks my heart because it makes me think about saying goodbye to my nieces, knowing I may never see them again. How can a father do this? How much pain is there for those families?

When the war started, I reached out to a friend in Poland, Agnieszka Kowalczyk, it was her birthday, and I wanted to let her know I was thinking of her. This started a conversation. She was in the thick of helping the Ukraine refugees as they reached the Poland border. She has been able to collect food, supplies, blankets, etc., to bring to the border as the refugees get their papers to come into Poland. The line of refugees is miles long and it is cold. She informed me that the Polish community has pulled together and has been able to collect items to help out, but they need money for housing and bills. Agnieszka was going to send me a list of charities to send money to, which got me thinking. Agnieszka has a flat that could house two big families or three small families. I thought it made sense to direct the money to her and bypass the red tape of a charity, and she can manage to get the families set up and then take care of the bills. Agnieszka is one of the most caring, empathetic, and selfless people I know. She has used all her money to help these refugees and continues to gather supplies, blankets, etc. Please help donate to this cause. I will direct the money to Agnieszka where she will get families from the Ukraine/Poland border and get them into housing so they can start to have some sense of living. Thinking of these families breaks my heart and I'm sure we all feel this way as we watch the news. Your donations have the ability to immediately and directly help Ukrainian families.
