Greetings all Tuko Pamoja party hosts (over 40 of you!) and loyal supporters and shoppers (too many to count!). I hope this finds you well and counting your blessings.
Life is tough, more so in some places than others. I am in daily contact with our team in Kenya. We try to keep each others' spirits up. Sadly, each day we receive over 10 phone calls from artisans, asking for assistance, even $2.00, just to feed their children for the day. Kenya is on total lock down, so they can't go out and sell their products or work at other day laborer jobs. All spring Tuko Pamoja events in America have been either canceled or postponed. Looking forward to a busy fall but the artisans have to survive the virus first.
We are talking over 100 women and a few men, each raising 2-10 children, many themselves already HIV+. We can't help everyone in need but certainly we can help those that have names, that have touched our lives, through our Tuko Pamoja efforts. We estimate $40 USD will feed a family of four for one month, and assuming the quarantine will be at least 8 weeks, we have set the goal of $8,000 USD for this campaign.
I know Americans are at risk, too. But Kenyans have no social or health services available. Please help me help them.
