I am setting up this GoFundMe on behalf of my mother (Tricia), her boyfriend (Jaymee), and my grandmother (Roseann) after several people have asked.

On 2/26/2026, their lives were turned upside down when Jaymee's childhood home very quickly caught fire while they were inside of the home. They were able to get the humans out without physical harm, but unfortunately, they were not able to find their scared pets quickly enough as the house was completely black within seconds. The loss of their beloved dog (Steve) and two cats (Ari & Frank) is truly devastating and the loss will be felt for the rest of their lives. Anybody that knows Tricia and Jaymee knows that their animals were basically like their children. My mom regularly carried their dog around like a baby; he was her velcro dog.

My grandmother is currently staying with me while my mom and Jaymee are at a hotel nearby their broken home until they figure out a long-term solution. Everyone involved is emotionally drained, heartbroken, and overwhelmed, but we truly appreciate all of the support that we've already received. You never think it will happen to you.

The fire was not only traumatizing, but continues to cause heartbreak as it starts to set in and they are dealing with the aftermath. The fire started in their furnace and therefore affected the entire house through the ventilation system. The fire destroyed much of what they owned and they are essentially starting over from square one. The road ahead will be long and challenging, but with the support of caring people like you, we can help them begin to rebuild. Every donation will go directly toward covering the cost of essential items lost in the fire and help them get back on their feet in a time of uncertainty.
