Helping towards children's mental health needs

My name is Lydia, I am 15, and have been struggling with my mental health for a few years. In the last few months things have been really bad and I have struggled to get support through the doctors or CAMHS. In August my Uncle Shawn will be running the Leeds half marathon to support the charity that have supported me. They gave me a safe place to talk to someone that felt comfortable and friendly.

Safe Zone is a Leeds based charity offering survivor-led crisis support for 11-17 year olds and their parents/carers. Leeds Survivor Led Crisis Service is a charity and as such relies on funding from ever decreasing pots of public money.

As a family as a whole we are grateful for the care lydia has received but we have had our eyes opened to the lack of support available for children and young people. Safe zone offers a wonderful service including face to face and telephone support but this is limited due to lack of funds. We would like to help them to continue providing help by raising much needed funds.
