Hi! My name is Michelle Raines! Erin is my best cousin! Erin and I were raised along side each other creating not only a cousin-ship but a friendship! She’s the best! So much so that I wanted blood relation to bleed into friendship! Erin has recently been diagnosed with ALS. As we all hoped for a few years leading up to the diagnosis that it would be something else…. Really anything else… the diagnosis was surreal and heartbreaking. Erin is battling this like a champ! With the best attitude and with grace and dignity. Erin has two beautiful daughters. Molly who is 8 and Kenley who is 13! A supportive loving husband, Josh who has assumed the role of care taker for any tasks this disease has robbed Erin of. Erin has limb onset ALS which has a 3-5 year life expectancy after first symptoms but we hope for her to be the rare case which is 10 years! She has lost a lot of upper motor function taking away a lot of her independence she once had. Cooking, cleaning & gardening are a few of the things she once enjoyed so much that this disease has taken from her.
