Helping to raise awareness for Type 1 Diabetes!

Hi, my name is Leah, I am 16 and doing Level 3 Business course at Sheffield College.

Ace, Daniella and myself are tasked with creating an event on 13th March based at Sheffield College where we will be putting games on such as bingo and games with prizes to be won. The profits to this event is all going to a charity called Diabetes UK. The reason for this charity is because I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes 2 years ago so thought this charity was fitting for the event.

Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) is an autoimmune disease that occurs when pancreatic cells are destroyed by the body's own immune system that is unable to produce insulin anymore. There is no non way to prevent T1D, treatment with insulin is needed for survival.
