Helping to put a smile back on Shellys face.

Hi I’m fundraising for my 12 year old sister Michelle. Michelle who’s also known as shelly is a lovely and caring child who was diagnosed with Asperger’s/autism at a young age, throughout the past few years she’s suffered bullying which had left her out of school for 6 years until she could attend a special needs school to cater for her additional needs. This affected her her confidence and mental health a lot, which had made her drawn back. She now suffers anxiety and depression at such a young age of 12.

Michelle had always loved horse riding and often enjoyed family days out with her mother and father as this helped with her anxiety and depression.

On Saturday 3rd September Shellys world came crashing down as she was told her father had roughly 6 months to live due to her father having two types of cancer both in the throat and liver. This was a huge shock, as he had diverticulitis it was not picked up sooner so lay undetected.

As anyone can understand breaking this type of news to a child with special needs was heartbreaking. Shelly still to this day does not fully understand how ill her father is and we as a family fear this will break her.

On Tuesday 27th September, we were told the devastating news that Shellys father has now only 2-4 weeks left to live due to the cancers being rapid. This is something non of us want to have to say to our child. No one should have to go through this especially as a child.

With Christmas coming up, it’s sad to say it will not be the same for Shelly. Shelly always has both her mother and father with her on Christmas Day. This year she will be left grieving and missing her father. It truly will not be the same for her. I would like to fund raise to at least give Shelly something to look forward to and to restore faith. Any donation will be great fully received.
