Tall Ships 2019 Can Help Change Lives

Hi,
I’m Abbey and I have taken up the opportunity to raise funds for The Jubilee Sailing Trust and to also have a very special experience at the same time. Those that know me will know I love the water, so much so that I have begun my journey to join the Royal Navy – but whilst on vacation from Welbeck Defence Sixth Form College I have decided to do something different and help a great cause.
I will be part of the crew sailing from Fredrikstad, Norway on STS Lord Nelson in July 2019; crossing the North Sea to Bergen, Norway as part of the Tall Ships Race.
I have chosen to take part in this voyage as I believe that this is a fantastic opportunity and want to help build up my own confidence and be a part of a team where we are all helping each other to overcome our own challenges.
The Jubilee Sailing Trust has asked everyone who takes up these opportunities to raise a contribution of £1500 towards the cost of the trip; but I would like to raise more to be able to have this great experience but also to be able to give a large donation to a worthy cause.

About the Jubilee Sailing Trust
The Jubilee Sailing Trust is a life changing organisation which aims to provide opportunities that will help the crew of a tall ship to overcome personal challenges and limitations. What is so remarkable about this organisation is that they make up a voyage crew with both able-bodied people and people with disabilities. Part of their mission is to allow the crew to leave the voyage with a feeling of self-belief, pride and an increased confidence.
The trust provides voyages on 2 tall ships, STS Lord Nelson and SV Tenacious. These are the only tall ships in the world that are built and designed to be sailed by a mixed ability crew. This includes people that are physically impaired, suffer with mental health conditions, socially isolated and from disadvantaged backgrounds. On these voyages the aim is to break down barriers, form friendships, develop skills for life and build a greater appreciation for others.
With the help of donations and contributions the charity is able to deliver a huge number of transformative adventures every year. Each voyage makes a significant impact on those that are in the crew.

Due to age restrictions, the money will be held by Mario & Mum and then they will transfer it to JST when the funds are raised.
