Helping Tim Sinclair Replace Stolen Equipment
Donation protected
Hi! I'm Jerry Stringer (NOT the guy on TV!! - I have morals!) and one of my good friends is Tim Sinclair from Keene, Texas. For a living, Tim stripes parking lots and installs traffic signage, and has done so for the past 15+ years. A couple of weeks ago he was in a secured parking lot on a jobsite in south Fort Worth, working on a parking lot sign about 30-40 feet away from his truck, when a man jumped in his truck and and drove off northbound on the I-35 service road, stealing the pickup, the attached trailer, and ALL of Tim's parking lot striping machines, tools, paint, stencils, etc. and last but certainly not least, Tim's Australian Shepherd dog, named "Bane". Bane and Tim were inseparable and went everywhere together. Tim immediately called 911 and reported the incident and a report was filed. A few days later, the Dallas Police Department recovered Tim's pickup truck and arrested the two occupants, but they have been unable to locate Tim's equipment and tools, the trailer, or "Bane".
Tim is in a huge bind here. The insurance company would have paid up on the truck, but since the equipment and tools are business related, they will not pay to replace them. I talked with Tim about it recently and asked how he is doing. I can tell you he's pretty torn up about losing Bane but knows there's a big social media effort underway to help locate his dog. Tim also expressed his concern about being able to meet normal living expenses for him and his wife since he has no equipment and supplies to maintain parking lots. He has made his living at this occupation for over 15 years and to be stopped in his tracks by this theft is devastating. I asked if he would allow me to head up a fundraising campaign to replace his equipment and tools and he was visible moved. He is not one who is comfortable accepting help for others, but told me he would be very humbled if I would help.
Tim is a soft spoken, "country" kind of guy, who is well liked in the community around Keene, and is known for helping others. He actively serves on the Board of Directors of the Chisholm Trail 100 Club based in Johnson County. That organizations helps 1st Responders and their families if the 1st Responder is injured or killed in the line of duty and he is an important part of it. I think it's time we give back a little.
I asked him what it would take to be back in business so he could start catching up on work contracts he has to fulfill. He figured it up an reluctantly told me it would take $12,000 to replace equipment, tools, trailer, and supplies. I told him that in today's world, $12,000 was really not a huge sum of money and I felt that there are people out there who would help him.
That brings us to right now . . . I'm asking that you help Tim out. Even if it's only $10 or $20, it would help. Of course, higher amounts would get us there much quicker but if only 600 people donated $20 each, Tim would be 100% back to work. I thank you for reading this and considering helping Tim and his family. Now if we could only find "Bane"!!
