Hi everyone,

I never imagined I’d be in a position where I’d need to ask for help like this, but life has taken an unexpected turn.

Over the last little while, I’ve been dealing with a serious health situation involving a kidney tumor (cancerous), and I am scheduled to undergo surgery on May 26. Following the surgery, my doctors expect a recovery period of approximately 6 weeks, which means I will be unable to work during that time.

While I will be receiving EI sickness benefits, it unfortunately will not fully cover my monthly expenses and basic living costs while I recover. Between rent, bills, groceries, transportation, childcare fees and other medical-related expenses, the financial stress has started to feel overwhelming on top of everything else.

Anyone who knows me knows that asking for help does not come easy to me, but right now my main focus needs to be healing and getting through this recovery both physically and emotionally. I’ve realized that sometimes people truly do want to support you when life becomes heavy, and I’m trying to allow myself to accept that support during this difficult chapter.

I would like to also mention, that those of you who know my daughter personally, please do not mention anything to her if you ever see her as she does not know what I’ve been going through to the fullest. She will only be made aware that I will be having surgery and will not know what for. 

Any donation, no matter the amount, would help ease some of the pressure and allow me to focus on my health and recovery without constantly worrying about finances. Even sharing this fundraiser or keeping me in your thoughts means more than I can put into words.
