I have had polio since I was 4 years old. Through all the surgeries, braces, and such I walked with one crutch worked and have raised two children until 1999 when having carpel tunnel for the second time  and shoulder problems I could no longer do my job at Winnebago Industries where I worked for 11 years. I worked for a short time gathering information for monthly credit reports  a credit company.

In 2003 I could no longer use my legs as well since post polio was taking it's toll. I was confined to a power chair. Depression set in as I could no longer get out to do the love of my life activities like fishing and camping.  I get away from my home about 2 times a year plus doctor appointments about 2 times a year. I don't even get to go shopping anymore because I don't have a vehicle to accommodate my chair. I also might mention I was diagnosed with cancer in 2010. I fought through that, and kicked it's butt. So to go through all this and end up house bound is a bad blow.

What I wish and hope for is enough funds to purchase a used handicapped van or motor home that has a power chair lift. I would even like an older Southwest Iowa Trolly vehicle that could be made into a camper. It is fun, but having my great grandson pull me around doesn't get me far. lol Since our income is approximately only $1900 a month buying something like this is out of the question.and would love to be able to travel to spend the rest of my boring life getting out to fish and camp again, even going shopping which I have not been able to do for these many years.  I would love to be able to drive across the state to camp with my family whom has a campsite by the Iowa River again. I cannot even begin to explain how much these things would mean to me or how much I truly would appreciate the help. As I sit here now I feel badly asking for help, but I don't know how else to find a way to live a quality life again.
