Help Thelma Get Home!
Donation protected
My name is Carla and I have started this account for my mother. Anyone who knows her knows she is not one to ask for help. In January of 2023, we discovered that her home was riddled with mold, a total loss along with some of her belongings. Thelma made the choice to have her home, which was paid in full, replaced. This unexpected situation left her with a mortgage payment, but she would not ask for help. Thelma moved into her new home in June and has managed to maintain without assistance. However, she underwent a foot surgery on Friday, September 1. Because she is unable to bear any weight on the foot for at least 8 weeks, she has been faced with new challenges such as depending on a wheelchair. Full time care is a necessity. To add to the issues and recovery obstacles, Thelma fell, fracturing 4 ribs. My aunt and uncle have been gracious enough to open their home to my mom, as they already had a ramp to get into their house. Although Thelma has insurance along with supplements, none of them will cover the care that she needs to be able to go home to recover. She has an additional policy that will help but must first meet the deductible. With the help of the church, we have been able to build her deck and ramp. Unfortunately, she has incurred quite a bit of cost for the materials. The cost of the insurance deductible, along with the cost of the porch and ramp have quickly become overwhelming, which has led to the creation of this page. Many people have asked how they could help but most are unable to physically help or contribute time. This is how you can help! If you feel led, please use this as an opportunity to help get Thelma home. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated, as well as your prayers for healing. Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you in advance for your help!
