Helping the Womack Family

I am starting this fundraiser for my cousin Missy and her son Jamie. Jamie was a healthy 20-year-old until things drastically changed on Christmas Eve 2022. After having flu-like symptoms on December 18, 2022, Jamie was taken to Urgent Care in Shelby, NC. From there, he was sent to the ER and then to Spartanburg Regional in the Gibbs Cancer Center where he was admitted. He had a bone marrow biopsy on December 23, 2022. On Christmas Eve, Jamie and his parents were told that he had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Jamie started Chemo treatments the following week. During this time Jamie has had multiple visits in and out of the ER and tested positive for Covid. He continued Chemo treatments showing improvement, but not at the level the doctors wanted to see. In September 2023 Jamie started the Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program at the Levine Cancer Institute in Charlotte, NC. Starting this program requires Jamie and his parents to stay in Charlotte, NC until the middle of December. During this treatment, Jamie must be extremely careful. As you can imagine, expenses add up quickly. Missy is unable to work at this time due to being Jamie's caretaker during this process. Everyday bills still go on and add up. Kymirah Cares is a wonderful program that is able to help their family with the hotel cost. My hope is to help them relieve some of the stress of everyday bills so Missy can 100% focus on caring for Jamie.
