Helping the Vincent Family After Fire
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Ashleigh and I’m fundraising for my childhood best friend who lost everything in a house fire. They did not have renters insurance. If you know Ali, then you know she never ask for anything. She works hard and would rather help someone else in need before helping herself even when tragedy strikes her personally. We have been able to get donations for immediate needs like clothes, shoes, toiletries, but there will be a lot more needs to come up.—- including a new home..
Below is the story from Ali:
At about 10:30pm on 2/13 we were woken up by the sound of someone busting out the windows in our living room and banging on our bedroom window so hard. I instantly thought someone was breaking in. After telling Joseph to get his gun he realized he could see fire outside our bedroom window. As soon as he opened the bedroom door all the smoke poured in, the alarms started going off and the fire started coming further in the house. I ran to the kids room got them up and we ran out the side door. Joseph grabbed Raylans Dexcom phone and pump phone which was the most important things he could get to quick. I had no bottoms on, Gavin was only in his underwear, Joseph was only in his shorts, none of us had shoes on. But we were just thankful to all be together safely outside. I got the kids in my car and left instantly bringing the kids to Josephs parents so the they didn’t have to see it all happening. Gavin was really tore up. He’s more like his mama. We are worry warts. Raylan was just as calm as can be. Just like his daddy. Once we got outside we seen it was our neighbors that literally saved our lives. They were coming home from a super bowl party and seen the fire on the front of our house. Had it not been from them we would not have been able to get to our kids. Had it not been for them we probably would have never woken up. Had they gotten there a minute later it would have been too late. If that doesn’t make you thank God nothing will. I don’t know how I could ever thank my neighbors enough. Although it breaks my heart seeing our home where all of our memories were made gone, I know everything can be replaced but our lives can’t be. The outpouring of all of the donations, prayers and just kind words is just breathtaking. We don’t know how to thank everyone. But we want everyone to know because of you all we have some hope! We did not have renters insurance so all of our belongings are a loss. Lesson learned the hard way. You never think it’s going to happen to you, but this is proof it absolutely can.
We are so thankful for each and every one of you that have made any type of donation. Even if you cannot donate, your kind words mean the world. Your prayers are greatly appreciated. This will not be an easy process but we are going to take it one day at a time. Hold your families tight. You never know when tragedy will strike. We love you all.
