Helping The Sykes Family into their FOREVER home.
Just when you think all is good in life, bills are paid, health is good, work is there (but it's Florida summer, so the rain cuts time from working almost daily)..... The rug gets pulled out from under you .... The man who you've been renting from for 6 years, decides he wants to sell your home, for double what he said he would sell it to you for. Yea, that just happened. And to top it all off, he gave us a 45 day notice to uproot our family, the only home our kids remember, where they have gone to school since day one of their schooling careers (with one going to middle school, one going to 4th, and one finally starting PreK). We have 45 days to come up with a $10,000 down payment, or move! We know our payment here is not feasible, so we found another place to go. Our landlord is willing to be a private lender, we found a place that we can have paid off in 5-7 years, and paperwork being drawn up, but now have 30 days to come up with $6,000 to move (oh... And still pay July rent). During summertime in Florida, we get storms daily. While James works his tail off to provide, and with Vivien starting school in August so I can go back to work, we know everything can be taken care of monthly, but having such a short time to come up with such an amount is going to be beyond difficult. We do have some saved up already, but with being rained out almost daily, I fear we won't be able to get what we need before our time here is up, and we'd still have to get the paperwork signed, and done before we could begin moving, which cuts that time even shorter. It honestly hurts my pride to even make this, because I know everyone's had such a rough year, but we're out of options to even possibly make it happen. Our girls will be homeless if we can't make this happen, within the amount of time we've been given, and we're thinking of every option to prevent that from happening. This down payment goes towards our forever home, not a place to rent, it's going towards a down payment for a home for us to own. And if we're not out quickly, the man selling our house also still wants July rent, while we save to move. Just minutes away from where we are now, not uprooting our babies, staying close to where we want to stay to be by James' parents during their years, and it will be OURS. If anyone can spare anything, it would be such a blessing. Thank you all for taking the time to read this. Anything helps, including shares and prayers.
