Helping the Shrewsbury Family Through Tragedy

Hi, my name is Tyler Shrewsbury and I'm heartbroken to announce the loss of my father, William Shrewsbury. On May 31, 2024, to the utter devastation of my entire family, he passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, at 51 years old. My father left behind his wife and three children; me, an adult, and my two little sisters who are 14 and 11.
My mother had just gotten home from spending a week in the hospital, after almost dying, due to her appendix rupturing. This led to a massive infection that moved from her abdomen to her brain and she required surgery and many different antibiotics to find the one to help her strain of bacteria. She's still taking daily IV infusions of antibiotics and dealing with the repercussions to her brain. She's told she needs 3-6 months to heal. She is also diabetic and on an insulin pump, so there are major costs with that as well. She was home for less than 24 hours before she suddenly had to perform CPR on my Dad, who ultimately passed away after being worked on by emergency services for what felt like an eternity. We can never thank them enough for the job that they do and the effort they put into trying to save my father.
This past year has been rough for my Dad, he had struggled with finding employment, in IT, that had full benefits. Ironically, he would have begun a dreamlike perfect job on June 3rd, but he unfortunately didn't make it to that date. My parents had drained their savings and investments just keeping the monthly bills paid and covering all their medical costs along with my sister's therapy and her meds. They'd even quit taking certain expensive medications, attempting to lower costs to make sure their children were taken care of. This awful year has left a massive gap in health insurance for our family, as well as no life insurance to help during this horrendous, gut-wrenching time we find ourselves in.
Before the downward slope of them draining their savings, my parents were very generous people who helped take care of another family, for an entire year, paying all their bills. They donated to many charities, fundraisers, homeless shelters, and people or friends in need. In such a short period, our little family has been left in shock and traumatized, and now it is them who need urgent assistance. My younger sibling needs her medicine and to continue her therapy as well as getting the youngest one into therapy to help process these difficult times. I am, frustratingly, unable to take on all of this financial responsibility right now but I am helping as much as I can. Currently, my mother has no money coming in, with my dad now being gone and her being unable to work. We would greatly appreciate any funds or form of help for our family to stay afloat. We need help with the house and utilities, medical expenses and unfortunately getting my father laid to rest. That is at least during this confusing, and difficult transition period while we try to get the girls signed up for social security and any other services we can utilize. We have to find our new normal without our Father here.
All of this leads me here, where I ask for your help for my family to get through these next few months, if you are reading this and you’re able to donate, your generosity will be so greatly appreciated and will alleviate some of the hardship of this time. If you’re unable to donate, I ask that you keep our family in your thoughts and prayers and please share this with others.
