For those of you who’ve been following me, you know I regularly volunteer with shelter dogs here in Portugal. We’re a small, volunteer-based group who give our time to help these dogs in our spare time. Many of you have asked how you can help from afar…this is one way.

Right now, the shelter is in urgent need: the washing machine has broken, dirty blankets & towels are piling up, many dogs don’t have collars, and most of the leashes are worn out and unsafe. We’re hoping to purchase a used washer (around €400) and provide every dog with a secure collar and leash (about €20 per dog). With 14 kennels housing 2–3 dogs each, we’re aiming to raise around €1,100 to cover these essentials.

Any amount truly makes a difference. We’ll share updates and show exactly how the funds are used. If we’re lucky enough to have anything left over, we’d love to get the dogs a small pool to help them stay cool during the hot summer days.
