Our wonderful neighbors that have only been in the area for 2 years were recently victims of a horrible crime. Last Thursday their house was broken into and they were violently assaulted. This break in and assault was reported on the news and is also believe to be tied to a murder in the area as well. They sustained multiple injuries and damage to their house. As a result of these injuries they are going to be out of work for several months. 
Thankfully their children did not witness any of the events as well as both parents walking away from this assault with just being injured. This family is a joy to be around and we as neighbors and their own family are grateful that they are alive. This is a very close neighborhood as we all look out for each other. We are all sadden and horrified that this happened in our area. However we all know that this could have happened no matter where we live. 
We are looking for any help that people can give to help them with the medical bills and household bills as they will not be able to work right now. My goal is to help get them through at least 2 months of not being able to work so that they do not feel rushed to get back to work. To be able to let their bodies heal as well as their minds. In any major event there is always going to be fears and thoughts of it replaying. Prayers for the parents as they navigate these next few weeks to feel safe in their own home. Our homes are where we should be able to feel the most safest at and with this assault on their home it has been stripped away from them.
