Bismillah-ir-Rahman-ir-Rahim
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
My name is Salma, and I am fundraising for Anthol, a village in Sylhet, Bangladesh. This community faces extreme poverty and a high number of children and adults with disabilities. My goal is to raise funds to distribute food parcels directly to the families who need them most. Each parcel will include 10kg rice, Oil 2L, Lentil 2kg, Milk power 1kg, Sugar 1kg, Onions 5kg
Potato 5kg. This amounts to roughly 2,550 taka (give or take) which is about £16-£17.
This will help a family survive for a month. Many of these children survive on rice flakes soaked in water, without even an adequate meal. Please donate a minimum of £16 to cover one food parcel.
I will personally deliver these parcels and share my journey so you can see where your donations go and the lives they touch. I cannot do this without your support.
In addition, I will be using additional donated money towards wheelchairs for children and adults. This roughly costs 8,000-9,000 taka (£56-60).
As you can see in the attached pictures, the village of Anthol is home to people with disabilities in various forms and at extreme levels. This mission is especially close to my heart because I have a son with global developmental delay and severe autism. I deeply understand the challenges these parents face raising children and young adults with severe disabilities under harsh conditions and with little to no support.
Many people with disabilities endure hardship in silence. Some cannot speak for themselves and are left unseen and unheard. Let us not forget the voiceless and the vulnerable.
Surah Al-Baqarah, Ayah 177:
"Righteousness is not that you turn your faces toward the east or the west, but righteousness is to give wealth, in spite of love for it, to relatives, orphans, and the needy."
Let us turn our faith into action. Join me in bringing food, compassion, and hope to our vulnerable brothers and sisters.
Thank you for reading my story, and may Allah reward you immensely for your generosity.
