Helping Mercy's Family with Cancer Expenses
Donation protected
Mercy Hernandez joined the Legacy Collective team in 2021, and shortly thereafter her brother, Roman, was diagnosed with cancer in August 2021 just after turning 18 and graduating from high school. He had gone into remission, but unfortunately the cancer is back. This time, Mercy has the chance to be a bone marrow donor to help her brother beat the odds!
Their family is facing many financial hurdles. Mercy's father passed away a few years ago. So it's just Mercy's mom, Norma, helping cover the costs for Roman and the related care and transportation expenses as well as the cost of lost work. She is having to miss work at her part time job to get Roman to and from Houston for treatments, care, etc. The family is in great need of our help to cover gas, meals, and other expenses. Every dollar matters and will help them in this journey.
Here is a note from Mercy: "In August 2021, my brother was diagnosed with leukemia shortly after his 18th birthday. He had just graduated high school a few months before and was looking forward to starting his new job. We were utterly in shock and disbelief when we received the news. After many rounds of intensive chemo, he was in remission.
He was in remission for the past 2 years...unfortunately, the leukemia is back and he needs a bone marrow transplant. I recently received the much awaited news that I am a match!!! My brother and mom really need all the support they can get. Anything helps! Thank you so much in advance for your support!!"
