Back to Zero: Helping the Meehan Family Weather a 3-Year Storm
I’m an operations manager and a father who usually has a plan, but after three years of fighting one crisis after another, I’ve reached the end of my rope. I hate even having to ask, but for my family’s sake, I’ve realized I can’t do this alone anymore. Since moving to Memphis, it has been a constant battle of "one step forward, two steps back." We aren’t looking for a windfall—we just need a hand to get back to "Zero."
The Three-Year Storm
Year 1: The Mortgage Shock. Complications with our home sale resulted in our mortgage nearly doubling overnight. For 36 months, we have absorbed that massive cost just to keep our children and my grandfather housed.
Year 2: The Ghost Debt. Our car was stolen, leaving us with $10,000 in debt for a vehicle we no longer owned. Instead of giving up, we’ve spent the last year grinding to pay that debt down significantly on our own.
Year 3: The Breaking Point. To pay that debt faster and cover the mortgage, I’ve been DoorDashing in my spare time. Recently, while out on a delivery shift, my remaining car was involved in an accident and totaled.
This latest hit took away more than just a car—it took away my ability to earn the extra income we rely on to survive.
Our Goal: $5,000
Because we’ve already worked so hard to pay down the bulk of our past debt, we only need $5,000 to bridge the final gap. This will allow us to secure a modest, reliable vehicle so I can return to work and finally clear the remaining debt from the stolen car.
A Final Thought
If you are not able to donate, please just pray for us. The Lord has brought me low through these trials and made me realize what is truly important and what I should be living for.
We’ve spent three years fighting to stay above water, and we just need a hand to reach the shore. Thank you for being our lifeline. Every share and every word of encouragement means the world to us.
