It is with great sadness and a heavy heart to post this update. On 4/26/2021, Heaven gained an amazing Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Son-in-Law, Brother-in-Law and Friend. ❤️ Trena, John, Seth, Sarah and Mark are extremely grateful for your continued prayers, kind words and support.
This Go Fund Me has been set up to help support my sister, Trena and her husband, Bob McCandless as Bob continues to heal from his near-death experience with COVID.
Funds raised will help alleviate some of the medical expenses Bob and his family will face while he continues to battles COVID-19.
February 15, Bob was diagnosed with a life threating case of COVID.
Four days later, Bob had to be transported back to the hospital (via ambulance) due to his oxygen levels dropping.
February 23rd, Bob was moved to the critical care unit (ICU).
A couple days later, Bob stopped breathing and medical staff placed him on a ventilator and placed him in a medically induced coma.
February 27th, Bob had pneumonia and a partially collapsed lung, a chest tube was then inserted.
Fast forward to March 17, they slowly started taking Bob off the paralytics and sedation meds.
April 1, 2021, Bob was stable enough to be moved to a long-term facility where he will start receiving rehab to help him move, talk, eat, etc.
Trena has stood by like a warrior, continued to work her full-time job, take the younger children to scouts and school activities AND continue her online education despite the little chance of visitation for her and their 4 children.
Trena is now in the process of packing and moving the family to a home that will better suit Bob's needs when he is strong enough to go home.
As you can imagine, the journey Trena, Bob and their kids (John, Seth, Sarah, Mark and fur-babies Penny and Bear) have been on is beyond emotional.
