In the early hours of January 24, shortly before a dangerous winter storm moved in, our dear friends experienced a devastating house fire that destroyed their home and everything inside it.
They are long-time residents of a small, close-knit community on the eastern shore of Seneca Lake in Lodi, NY. Over the past 25 years, they built their home themselves, piece by piece, through years of hard work, care, and commitment. Tim and Karen are artisans, and their home was not only a place to live, but a deeply personal work shaped by their craftsmanship, creative vision, and hands. The home reflected the life they created there and the values they’ve brought to their family and community.
For years, they have quietly made a meaningful difference in the lives of those around them—always stepping in to help neighbors, always putting others first. Their dedication to animal rescue and community support has touched countless lives.
In the midst of this sudden tragedy, they were able to escape safely with their beloved animals. We are profoundly grateful that no lives were lost, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to the local fire departments whose rapid and courageous response helped contain the fire and ensure everyone's safety. The fire resulted in a total loss of the home and its contents.
This fundraiser is being organized by close family friends to ensure direct and transparent support. All funds raised will be used to help cover immediate needs, site preparation, and the costs associated with rebuilding their home as quickly and safely as possible.
If you are able, please consider donating. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference. This is an opportunity for our community, and those beyond it, to support people who have spent years supporting others.
