Supporting Steve and Family During Deb's Illness

Hi friends and family of Deb and Steve. On behalf of the family, I'm asking for you to take a moment to read the update on Deb's diagnosis and prognosis as she is still in the hospital.

On January 2, 2024, Deb was admitted into the hospital due to an excruciating level of pain from growths that had formed developed on her legs and thighs. She quickly lost the ability to walk and unfortunately her situation worsened.

The growths turned into open sores while she was in the hospital within 3 days causing more pain.

Doctors completed a biopsy on the sores, which eventually showed she has a rare disease attached to her kidney failure called calciphylaxis.

Due to the calciphylaxis and failing health, she was admitted into ICU this week. Doctors are keeping her sedated and until yesterday she had a intubation tube placed to assist her with breathing. The doctors removed 4 liters of fluid from her through hemo dialysis as well.

At this point, Deb has not regained consciousness. The prognosis is unknown at this point if she will pull through this devasting situation or not.

As there are many costs associated with an illness of a loved one, such as loss of work wages from family, gas and parking for daily supportive visits and bills that still need to be paid, I'm asking you to consider making a donation to help her husband, Steve. 

Steve works graveyard shifts so in order to be at his wife's side he has had to make the decision to temporarily stop working.
