Helping the Lindgren Family

I created this account for Kelly Lindgren, who has been a personal friend of mine for six years. Kelly is a local Nurse, a wife and mother of three young children. Unfortunitly, Kelly's brain tumor returned, and recently had emergency brain surgery. Her husband, Andrew has taken off work to care for Kelly and their children. In October Kelly’s MRI revealed that her glioblastoma brain cancer had returned. We knew it would, but weren’t sure how long it would take. In December after a few doctor visits at OHSU it was determined she needed surgery again and pretty much immediately. She underwent her third brain surgery on Friday Jan 7th. The first two surgeries were only a few days apart in August 2019 after the tumor was originally found.  This surgery wasn’t easy but she was recovering quickly and was home on Wednesday Jan 12th. Kelly was recovering well at home working on getting better. On the morning of 16th she woke to a soaked pillow and fluid leaking out of her incision. After a call to the doctor we came back to the ER at OHSU. It was determined to be cerebrospinal fluid that wasn’t draining properly. They put a drain into her spine to keep fluid draining. No signs of infection as of yet. And she’s back into recovery, doing well. Until further notice.
