We’re hoping to come together as a community and surround Hawaiki and her ʻohana from Wainiha, Kauaʻi with as much love and support as we can. Their family recently suffered major damage to their home after Hurricane Lowell, leaving them facing the overwhelming process of figuring out what comes next and how to rebuild.

This home means so much more than just a roof over their heads. Their family has lived there for years, and it is now the home where Hawaiki is raising her five little ones, including their newest baby, who wasn’t even a month old when the hurricane hit. Losing the comfort and security of your home is heartbreaking on its own, but navigating that loss while caring for five young children and a newborn is more than any family should have to carry alone.

This difficult time also comes as Hawaiki and her family are approaching the one-year anniversary of the passing of their mom. While still carrying that grief and learning how to move forward without her, they are now being faced with another unimaginable hardship. Home, family, and having a place to feel grounded are especially important during a time like this.

Through everything, Hawaiki and her ʻohana have continued to do their best to stay strong, care for their keiki, and take care of one another. Right now, we just want to help carry some of that weight with them.

Our hope is to raise funds that can help them with the immediate needs that come with this kind of loss and, ultimately, help them get back to a safe and stable place that feels like home again.
