In Loving Memory of Josh Horn
Donation protected
Two years ago, we started a GoFundMe for Josh and Kat with a goal of $25,000, hoping to ease some of the financial burden during Josh’s battle with GBM. Thanks to the incredible generosity of so many, we were able to raise nearly $21,000 in that first year. Those funds made a real difference—they helped cover hotel stays, meals, gas, flights, and anything else Josh and Kat needed as they traveled to Medford, the Bay Area, Southern California, and even the East Coast in search of treatments and clinical trials. They faced every challenge with courage, hope, and unwavering love.
Today, we’re sharing the GoFundMe again with the heartbreaking update of Josh’s passing. His fight was brave and full of heart, and his loss is felt deeply by everyone who knew and loved him. We’ve increased the goal to $50,000 to help cover the costs of funeral and memorial services, and to continue supporting Kat and their family as they navigate this painful time.
Thanks to early donations, we’ve already raised about $3,000 toward the new goal. Every contribution, share, and message of love brings comfort and relief. Thank you for standing with them—your kindness means more than words can express.
UPDATE 4/24/2025
We are heartbroken to share that Ranger Josh Horn passed away with Kat and his parents by his side on April 24th, 2025. During this incredibly difficult time, we are coming together to support his family.
We are updating this Go Fund Me as a way to show our support and love to the Horn Family. Josh fought a tremendous battle with GBM and we are so proud of the Horn family for how hard they fought these last two years.
If you are unable to make a contribution, please continue to share this and keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
Original Post:
Coast Guard Veteran, Police Officer, and Ranger Josh Horn, age 34, has dedicated his life to helping and serving the public. Now Josh is the one who needs our help.
Just recently, the young Horn Family’s lives have been turned upside down and shaken like a snow globe. Receiving news no one wants to hear, and still having so many questions and unknowns.
Over the last several weeks, Josh has been dealing with declining fine motor skills, speech, and coordination. With these unnerving symptoms, Josh went to the ER and got a CT scan. The scan reveled a 3 cm tumor on the left side of his brain, and was sent to a hospital in Medford, OR for more evaluations.
Josh, Kat and their two young boys Sean (5) and Dawson (2), live in Klamath Falls in rural Oregon. The hospital Josh needs to go to is in Medford is several hours away. A logistical nightmare to add onto the worst nightmare they are already experiencing. Josh will have to return to Medford on May 15th for an awake craniotomy to remove as much of the tumor as possible within the next few weeks once the swelling subsides. Josh will be in the ICU the night after surgery followed by a few more days in the hospital recovering. At this point there are still some unknowns as the tumor will be sent off to be tested.
Please keep Josh and his family in your thoughts and prayers. He is the main provider for their family. Kat is a former Marine Science Technician from the Coast Guard and is now staying at home taking care of their boys and maintaining their household. Let’s help ease any worries of financial issues that may arise and let them focus on healing, and staying positive for their boys.
Update 5/14/2023
Please continue to pray for Josh as he goes for surgery Monday morning 05/15/2023. Pray for the doctors to have steady hands and a good MRI map to Josh safe, and hopefully remove the tumor completely. Pray for Kat and their boys to stay strong and positive over the next few days. And pray to help them remain strong in their faith. Pray for benign results when the test results come back.
We love you guys!
