Help the Horner Family through their Loss!

Hello Everyone,

An incredible California family just lost their young and loving mother of four wonderful children on 5/31/24!

Emily and Darrel Horner found one another over 16 years ago and lovingly grew their family to include three fun teenagers, plus an adorable infant child. Unfortunately, Emily has recently lost her courageous battle with a very aggressive form of HER-2 positive breast cancer. Despite all known efforts, the disease progressed swiftly beyond any treatment options. Her medical team gave Emily the best care and pain management possible, allowing her to transition peacefully.

During their early years together, Darrel became an officer for the California Highway Patrol and was sworn to Serve & Protect communities statewide. And as their family grew, Emily knew he was not only a loving husband, but a dedicated father. Most recently, Darrel has been serving as the Public Information Officer for the CHP Marin Area office.

Emily and Darrel shared so many wonderful adventures and moments of joy together as a family. From their spontaneous road trips to cozy family movie nights. Their lives were filled with fun, laughter, and love. These cherished memories are now even more precious, serving as a testament to the beautiful life they built together.

The grief and sadness experienced by her entire family is profound. Many friends have provided meals, encouraging messages and gestures of love, which have been a source of comfort and strength. Each act of kindness reminds the Horner Family that they are not alone as they navigate through this challenging period.

Emily was a beloved family member and friend, whose warmth, kindness, and spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. Emily’s presence will be dearly missed, but her legacy of love and compassion will continue to live in our hearts.

Emily has always been a pillar of strength and support. Now it's our turn to support her family. Let's come together to show her family that they're definitely not alone! Your generosity and kindness can make a huge difference.

As the Horner Family tries to meet each day, they are faced with the additional burden of funeral expenses. To honor Emily’s life and legacy, we want to give her a beautiful farewell, reflecting the love and joy she brought into so many lives.

We humbly ask for your support to help cover these costs, plus the future educational needs of their children. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant difference and ease the financial strain on the Horner family.
