Helping the Family of Doug Whaley

Hi, my name is Robin Kannel and my cousins husband was tragically killed in a car accident on Monday, February 6, 2023.

     Doug who was 49 years old had worked for over four years for the city of Prescott in the Public Works Dept. He had gotten called in that evening to come in and help sand the roads due to the weather conditions. His daughter (13years old) was riding with him like she always like to do. (They were attached at the hip.) While on their drive to Prescott,  they came across a 24 yr old mother with a three week old infant in the ditch. So Doug stopped to help her. While he was assisting her, he was struck by a box truck and later died on the way to the hospital.

Doug’s boss said they sure are going to miss his great work ethic, outstanding teamwork and most importantly his friendship.

Doug was always going out of his way to help others in any way he could. Like his boss said, “ he would never leave anyone behind.”

There is no monetary value that could ever take away the pain of this situation but trying to ease the financial burden his wife now faces would be greatly appreciated.
