Helping the Dunns

Hi my name is Tammy Heaton and I am fundraising for my friends the Dunns during this difficult time…here is Paula’s story❤️
My name is Paula Dunn and my husband is Jim Dunn.
On June 28, 2022 our lives were changed forever. It was supposed to be the day we would celebrate our 18th wedding anniversary instead we were given the news no one ever wants to hear, my husband had cancer. He was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma a form of blood cancer.
Then two day's later my husband was not feeling well and had the symptoms of having covid, so I gave him a home test and it was positive. I ended up taking him to the emergency room and 7 hour's later he was admitted into the hospital. I unfortunately couldn't be there with him for the next six day's because I tested positive two day's later. Because of covid my husband now has several other medical complications.
After wearing a heart monitor for 30 day's, we were informed his heart paused or stopped 30 times, so on September 16th he had to have a Biventricular Pacemaker put in. His Cardiac Electrophysiologist informed us that he couldn't do the surgery to repair the AFib due to the Chemotherapy he is on and how weak his immune system is. So for now we have to pray the pacemaker and med's help keep his heart in sync.
He is scheduled for another surgery the 28th of this month and hopefully that will help him with another problem he is having.
If all of that wasn't enough we are also having to deal with him becoming a type 2 diabetic.
Being diagnosed with cancer was overwhelming enough, then to have all these other problems thrown our way is very difficult to deal with, not only emotionally but financially.
I never thought that I would ever post something like this. I never thought I would put our personal life out there for the public to see. But for unseen circumstances we don't have any other choice.
My husband and I were just getting ready to sell our home and move to a smaller place, but in one phone call everything changed our lives forever.
What little savings we had was gone,
going to 6 doctor appointments a week and having to pay a copay at every visit drained our savings real quick. Then we have the cost of new and expensive prescriptions he never had before, 17 prescriptions a month.
So we go from living a normal life as we knew it, to wondering what bills can we pay. Do we pay the mortgage or do we buy food. Do we pay our car payment or do we buy his med's. How do we keep our lights and water running.
How are we going to pay his copay for all the doctor's appointments every week, that is costing us a minimum of $600.00 a month. How are we going to pay the medical bills that are piling up in the thousands of dollars.
As much as we hate to ask we are asking for help to pay his past medical bills, future medical bills, prescriptions, and some of our monthly bills. The last thing we need is to lose our home, while he is going through his chemo therapy.
I'm sure some will say sell your home, but with the high cost of rent, it would be more expensive for us to rent than live in our home. If you could find it in your heart to help us we would be so grateful, if you can't we understand and ask that you keep my husband in your thoughts and prayers.

thank you so much for all those that can help and those that cannot please keep Jim and paula in your prayers!! Thank you very much!!
