Kristi was a very active wife and homemaker until she became sick with breast cancer over 4 years ago. Prior to her illness Kristi was highly active in the community assisting with HYSA, HYFCA, PTAs at Veterans Hill Elementary & Hutto Middle School. After her initial surgery, Kristi had complication after complication to include: 7 bouts of sepsis, 32 weeks on a wound Vac, 120-day hospital stay, a failed medication port, and a 21-inch-long DVT that required 3 stents too correct. Kristi was never able to achieve a full healthy active lifestyle she once had. Even though Kristi could not be physically active she remained 100% engaged in the lives of her children assisting with reading, typing, homework, driver’s education, and giving advice to her teenagers. The entire time while she was sick, she never gave up and continued to fight. Shortly over a year ago Kristi became short of breath during Christmas. In typical fashion she did not want to ruin Christmas to seek help. This time when she left the hospital this time it was with a DNR, and on oxygen. While Kristi fought to get back to a normal life, Lupus and Addison’s took over. Kristi wanted nothing more than to make sure her children were taken care of, successful, and loved by the people around her. Even to the point she helped plan almost every aspect of her funeral.
